About Us

The society perform two productions a year in spring and autumn. These have always been to a high standard and have had some very good reviews from NODA and loyal audiences. Our plays have included a range of comedies, farces, thrillers, suspense and classics which have been challenging but always well received. The plays are performed at the Miners Welfare Hall, Main Street, Garforth.

The acting members work hard to learn their lines, attend regular rehearsals,  and portray the characters of the chosen play to maintain our high standard of productions. Rehearsals at present are on Monday and Thursday evenings 7:30pm-9:30pm at The Methodist Church in Church lane.

These productions could not happen without the help of our backstage crew and set building team who work tirelessly to produce amazing and authentic sets.

Costumes and make-up are always given attention to detail to create the characters, and properties are sourced from everywhere to ensure the plays can run without a hitch. We also rely on our front of house team to help with refreshments, raffle, selling programmes and publicity and recently the introduction of a licensed bar has proved popular with the audiences.

Together, although we are a small team, everyone has a part to play and is valued in all their efforts. We often get together for organised social events such as theatre trips, quiz nights, meals, cheese and wine evenings, BBQs etc and this helps with fundraising to keep the society functioning.
